Robert Oswold Milne (1853-1927)

Robert Oswold Milne, a well known figure in the Leamington Amateur Photographic Society, was the grandson of a Manchester cotton merchant. His father came to Leamington around 1860. Robert Oswold Milne lived at 'Oakfields', Leamington Spa and was a noted amateur photographer who won the Amateur Photographic Association Gold Medal in 1895. He also took some photographs for The Annals of the Warwickshire Hunt, 1896 and one of his negatives (CR 711/Box 13) is at the County Records Office in Warwick. A large collection of his photographs and some negatives (CR 1894) are also at the CRO. He also appears (bottom right) in the group photograph of the Leamington Amateur Photographic Society taken at Warwick Castle in 1887 (CR 1894/67).
