OPENING of the Leamington Spa Photographic Society's ANNUAL EXHIBITION at the Spa Centre by Councillor Mike Doody, Chairman of Warwick District Council, at 7.45pm. (Exhibition on display until Sep 28).

 

Oct 7

"THE HISTORY OF THE JEPHSON GARDENS FROM 1846 - 1996" by Bill Gibbons.  Another of Bill's fascinating talks, this time on the development of the Jephson Gardens over their first 150 years.

 

Oct 14

"A WALL AROUND CALIFORNIA" with *Terry Wall ARPS EFIAP DPAGB PSA4* who will show us a fascinating series of photos illustrating Death Valley, the Californian surf scene and images of Highway 48.

 

Oct 21

FIRST CLUBMAN COMPETITION - any subject.  Judge: *Malcolm Kus ARPS EFIAP.

 

Oct 28

"A CLASSIC EXPERIENCE" by *Eric Broadbent LRPS who will show us photos and cameras from the classic period of 1930 to 1965.  In order for us to see everything it is ESSENTIAL that we have a PROMPT start.

"THE F STOPS HERE" with *Roger Pinn ARPS MPAGB BPE2* who will show us a variety of almost exclusively British photos from insects to landscapes.

 

Nov 11

"A YEAR OF A WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER" with *Peter Jones ARPS who will show us slides portraying the seasons in a wildlife photographer's year; and which includes birds, flowers and butterflies.  75% of the photos were taken in Leicestershire with the rest in Lancashire.

"WWF SLIDE LECTURE" by Mrs. Rita Godfrey, which will include some EXTREMELY rare shots of Snow Leopards in the wild.

3 WAY BATTLE with Badby and District Photographic Society and Grange Photographic Society at Badby (7 prints and 7 slides from each club).

"ANTARCTICA" with Jean Evans ARPS who will share with us her recent experiences in the Antarctic.

"PHOTOGRAPHY QUIZ NIGHT" - a time to check up on your knowledge of photography in its widest sense, with a seasonal prize to the winner.

MCPF TRAVELLING PORTFOLIO.  Showing a selection of the best work by Midland's photographers.

BATTLE with Sphinx Photographic Society at Sphinx premises (12 prints and 12 slides from each club).

"THE WARWICKSHIRE AVON FROM SOURCE TO TEWKESBURY" with Graham Lowe who will take us on a fascinating voyage of discovery down the Avon.

3 WAY BATTLE with Dunchurch Photographic Society and Coventry Photographic Society at Dunchurch (7 prints and 7 slides from each club).

"KENYA - PART 2" with Gordon Morris who will show us more fascinating photos of his travels in Kenya.

RPS NATURE GROUP slide/tape show featuring their 2003 Annual Exhibition.

 

Mar 23

"AN ARTIST IN THE MAKING - AFIAP" with *Peter Gennard MFIAP EFIAP/p.  The talk consists of monochrome prints and colour slides from when Peter first started in photography back in his teenage years.  Some of his pictures have appeared in International Exhibitions, world wide.

 

Mar 30

IT'S A KNOCKOUT COMPETITION.  Bring your work on the night, prints and/or slides; see whether you can make it through to the winner's "podium"!  Voting will be by all present on the night.  (Hand in entries for Annual Exhibition).

 

Apr 3 (Sat)

PUBLIC LECTURE at the Spa Centre - "A LIFE IN A VERY COLD CLIMATE" by Dave Fletcher, the base commander of the largest UK base in the Antarctic.  An evening not to be missed as we see the splendours of the Antarctic wildlife and scenery.

DOUG HEPBURN MEMORIAL TROPHY - either 2 prints or 2 slides of NEW work.  Judge: *Mike Jemmett ARPS.  Bring work on the night.
